Overview
Ronit brings over two decades of experience in litigating utility regulatory matters before the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) and has provided direct counsel to business professionals within utility organizations. Her recent areas of expertise include multi-year integrated grid and rate plan proceedings, rate design investigations, beneficial electrification plan proceedings, and Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) related proceedings and workshops.
Ronit represented Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd) in ICC Formula Rate proceedings from 2011 to 2021, Article IX rate cases in 2007 and 2010, as well as in workshops, rulemakings, reconciliations, and the design and implementation of Purchase of Receivables and Consolidated Billing Programs. She also successfully obtained summary judgment in favor of ComEd against Illinois Whistleblower Reward and Protection Act claims in state court. Ronit participated in the ICC post-2006 initiative on behalf of Midwest Generation and has also represented Vanguard, Ambit, Phillips 66, and Mid-America Pipeline Company in ICC proceedings.
Before joining Whitt Sturtevant LLP, Ronit was an Assistant General Counsel at Commonwealth Edison Company, where she received ComEd’s Powering Together Award for first Beneficial Electrical Plan (2023) and ComEd’s Powering Together Award for Joint Use Utility Infrastructure (2023). Prior to that, she was a partner at the law firm of Eimer Stahl LLP in Chicago. She began her career as an associate at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich LLP (now known as DLA Piper) in her hometown of San Diego. When not advocating for clients, Ronit enjoys gardening, traveling, cooking (and eating!), exercising, playing games like Mah Jongg, and organizing anything and everything.
